There are lots of possibilities. But I do really like how the corn (maybe a bit of twine) could make a "row cage". Some of these types of videos might be AI enhanced or AI ideas but they are still good ideas.

I have done corn & potatoes, kale, or flowers. There are lots of possibilities.

Ironically the one that has been the worst has been the classic corn/beans/squash trio. I think it probably worked in New Mexico in a certain way for the people there but I think part of that cultural recipe was lost or doesn't work up where I'm at.

I have done it before, You have to get the corn up and going maybe a foot tall or so before planting the beans and squash. It works best if you plant your corn in hills which no one does anymore! I think the indians did. They would have several plants per hill and bury a fish under each hill before seeding the corn. I am surprised the coons didn't dig up every hill and have a nice fish dinner! Just to give you an idea of how plentiful fish must have been. In this area the indians used shad which would come up the rivers in early spring just before the leaves come out. Or another way to tell the shad would be running was when the shadblow blooms. Now only a few rivers have a shad run. And pretty much zero atlantic salmon which would have been the desired game fish for the native americans.

I was thinking the same. Must have thrown all the seeds in the same hole. With large distances between the holes. Maybe planted the beans after. There probably was no reason to plant in perfect rows. Agree about the raccoons maybe they were happy to find a nice winter hat moving around in their garden.
