I had to cut the blossom off my 10 DAP fruit as it would not stop weeping. Obviously, it continues to ooze liquid like a firehose now that I have cut it. Any suggestions? Is there any hope for this one? Anyone had to snap a blossom off so early?

Have you been using any fans to keep it dry?

Swap the end with vaseline..it dont take much but will stop leakage and act as a fungal also used it several times last year on mains,,if it leaks thru in spots just add more

Why did you have to cut Blossom end off? Never heard of that?

The 50/50 sulfer/calcium hydroxide mix seems to stop bleeding and should be antiseptic. Chemically its just the ingredients for gypsum, mildly irritating ingredients but non toxic, I think.

Thanks. I had a cloth cover over the entire pumpkin and when I checked in the morning there was furry mold growing on the blossom (lack of air movement under the cloth?). I scraped it for a few days in a row and dusted with sulfur but the rot seemed to keep going deeper. Now that I have cut it off, it seems to have dried up. I had one go mushy a few years ago and thought it was game over, but after I snapped it off it recovered just fine. Fingers crossed, this one will be OK.
