Subject:  Shade or no shade?

Ever since my 2nd year growing, I've constructed a shade cover of some sort over my pumpkins. 1 year I just put blankets on it (although I hear that traps ethylene and potentially causes early ripening?), other times I've built a stand for a tarp.
Now, I'm seeing a lot of pictures where it seems top growers don't all shade their fruit? But lots of growers still do?
So, what I'm asking, is those of you who do, why? And those of you who don't, why not?

I'm at about 20 dap, so it's about the time I should be constructing something, but I'm not sure if it actually helps any?

I use a misting system so i cover to keep dry. Lazy years I'll cover with a sheet but usually I have a pvc frame with a tarp and then a sheet on the pumpkin. I dont like the pvc frame cause it makes access to the pumpkin trickier the last half of the season. You have to have some covering so the skin doesnt get sunburn. I might try tyvec cover over a sheet with some foam as a spacer this year.

I dont think its good to have the fruit be in full sun this time of year... Maybe in late August or something. But every grower has a different situation.
