Interesting. And I agree that a sickly plant can be putting more effort into the fruit than a healthy plant. Healthy plants might be healthy precisely because they are being "selfish" or self-preserving while sickly plants may look sickly because they're giving it everything they've got and then some... But there's a lot of in between area in there also.

Yeah! Kinda like harpen proteins that you cant seem to get anymore would highten the plants immune system creating SAR (systemic acquired resistance) the sick "looking" plant keeps chugging.
