You may want to use a stake to keep that rough leaf stem away from the fruit. They scratch real easy when the wind moves that leaf around.

When you start to see yellowing in the flower it's normally the next morning when the sun starts to rise. My plants usually open up between sixthirty and seven o'clock.

What I do is if it is questionable, because they CAN get you, is put my nylon mesh, drawstring baggy on it that day that I ponder it so that it is ProTected from an open pollination in any event, then cut off 3-5 prospective males and keep them INdOOrs in water for the possible pollination. By 'get you' I mean that if there's a warm spell of a few hours, even at night, BOInnnng!, or even if luck is simply not on one's side. FYI, if you venture to do it this way, please know that a paper bag or cup is not fully-effective at flower celibacy, lol, but there are even still other options. Of course, no sweat nor 'law' this time around, or any. eg PS---That lineup of plant materials is really exemplary! Leaf stalk/Female flower/Secondary/Tendril/Root>>>WOW! Too bad that I would myself remove all butt the Female flower and the Root, until even that became a problem. Wish you luck! eric g
