I have buried my drip lines the last few years and it's works great (but was a lot of extra work). Just have to be careful sticking your bamboo skewers!

Hey KC Kevin, this is SoCal Kevin, I'm another GP grower in So Cal (near San Diego). I'm going to try the perlite this year after seeing your post. My main plant is about the same size as yours right now. I'm curious what you use to deter pests - I'm having issues with my leaves being chewed up, both along the edges and in the center around the veins.
