            | ZAPPA | Western PA | Is it necessary to have something tall next to the stalk to tie on to? I never grew the tall ones and I am thinking a strong wind may blow them over.If so, what do you use ?
 Thanks , Lee

            | Pumpkin Picker (Orange Only) | Western PA | IF you are in a windy area a strong wind can definitely topple a tall sunflower. no worrys really till they start to get there seed head which weighs a lot and makes them top heavy.
I grow mine next to a 7ft fence and tie them off at the 7 ft level. I have had no issues with those blowing over (12-15ft)

            | Grower Steve | Rochester, NY | Anyone want to participate in a tall sunflower contest? If I get enough interest I'll put one together. | 3/26/2010 8:15:20 PM |
