My biggest problem is getting the plant to size for pollination. What do most of you feed the plants to get the plants to size early. I start my plants the same time as everyone else and the top growers plants grow so much faster than mine. What do you use to make the plants grow so much faster than mine? I see that you get the mains to cobra. What do you feed your plants to get the plants to size? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I use a jacks petunia feed 20-6-22 early with nice results. I believe most of the readily available soluble fertilizers with nitrogen will do the trick, but like Moon says the soil needs to be warm or the plant will not want to take off. Possibly consider seed starting later or be happier with a later pollination date in order to get the size of plant you desire at pollination.

It depends what your limiting factor is. I think I tend to get slow growth in the early season due to low phosphorus uptake. The soil biology isnt ready, or the temps are too low. Or more nutrient needs to be added to the rootzone or via foliar.

Warm soil. Get that soil temp to 20°C minimum. Don't let your overnight air temp get below 16°. If your soil is half decently fertile, ph between 6.5 and 7 the plant will grow at a good clip. Should have at least 3-4 meters of vine within 60 days of seed starting.
In my garden AG's need about half the N every thing else does. If your vines are climbing cobra style you have probably just about over done it, pre fruit set.

Honestly, dont feed much. Last year I had my best plant growth ever (pollinate 3 weeks earlier than ever before) and all i did was keep soil temp at 25°C, and tried to keep air temp fluctuating between 15° at night and 25° days.
My feeding was some seaweed maybe once a week, and thats it.
Only thing I plan to change is to try and get temp to fluctuate from 18-28 instead this year. Everything else is think was perfectly fine
