Big milestone this week Emily and I took down the Quictent. The 10x20 temporary greenhouse had served its purpose but the plant had already reached the end and secondaries were starting to climb the walls. Time to let it breathe.

You can see in the photo how much ground the plant is already covering. Main vine is sitting at 17 feet. Growth slowed a bit this week cold rainy weather with multiple days in the 40s, dialing back nitrogen ahead of pollination, and energy shifting toward secondary development which has finally taken off.

Given it's only May 17th and only 6.5 weeks from seed planting date, I feel like I got away with one this spring. With the 10 day forecast showing heat and humidity, the patch is wide open now and ready to fill in.
