I counted 23 finches eating dandelion seeds today. They either like dandelions a lot or it's the only seeds they can find this time of year.
This early garden was planted in March. Its growing. The only thing that failed was the direct-sown onions. Only a few came up. The transplanted onions, on the other hand, are doing well. The early tomatoes survived all the near freezes.
The big green bushes are hollyhocks. The hollyhock on the left is the biggest I've ever seen. The soil fertility in that spot must be superb. The fertility isnt as good elsewhere. Working on it.
Started gourds and melons yesterday. Even a giant cucumber. Never thought I'd grow one. Makes sense though with limited space here. There might be enough space for climbing things.
Can't find the 2020 Paton seeds. I have failed to award them to the 'old seed germination' winners, but maybe as soon as I admit this I will find them!
That's how things happen, sometimes...
