I have been home very little in the last 2 1/2 weeks so it's been hard to keep up with the patch. Not to mention nearly daily rain and the weeds and tertiaries are a bit out of control.
This is the 2021 Hoornstra x 2196 Zappa at DAP 27, only taping 205lb, gaining 16.5lb a day for the last week. If I have a shot at a big pumpkin this thing is going to have to pick up the pace but it seems my hopes are growing dimmer across the patch with issues everywhere.
Unfortunately we have had cloudy conditions and rain nearly every day for the last 8 days, the soil in the patch has been saturated or nearly so much of the time.
On the plus side the shape and color seem nice.
