               Looks to me like it was cracking in that area from the rapid growth and healed over and scared. Would make sense to me with the 5 inches plus a night and warm night temps

               Same opinion here. Nothing to worry about. When the fruit is tiny, the percentage of growth is enormous. This kind of stress to the fruit´s skin will decrease now (for as long as it is soft), until the time comes that the skin gets older and cantalouping commences (perhaps, maybe, maybe not).
