What I used to do was cut down a ZipLoc quart-sized bag and put the peat pot into it with small black metal clips to hold that up, like suspenders for pants, but eventually, even though that worked very well and things never dried out, it was a bit complicated and I never have liked the root system being mangled by separating it from the SS Mix/peat pot upon planting. Now, I use 16-ounce plastic cups and try to get them into the patch ASAP once weather is VERY favorable, partly because they were free. I haven't tried it, butt having the peat pot in a slightly-larger plastic container while in this stage might allow for nearly-zero evaporation other than transpiration and the water level might be able to be seen 24/7, with a predetermined level to keep it at. even zero. I always see peat pots with no 'sheathing', but I think the trend is to have them IN something, even, as I've seen, probably non-stick aluminum foil. All just suggestions; Nice and GREEN!---eric g
