            | Greenbud | Coventry Rhode Island USA | So Marv , in your book it says gypsum Is not fast or quickly available to plants , even though I have other forms of calcium in like bone meal 20 % , and calcitic lime ! Wouldn’t it be prudent to start on like a cal mag regiment ? For these giants , had no problems last year . Just 2 tomato’s developed blossom end rot 5 feet up .any thoughts ? | 6/9/2020 11:59:51 AM |

            | Marv. | On top of Brush Mountain, Pa. | Greenbud:Before you add anything to your soil you need to have done a soil test. Have you done one? If so, send it to me and I will look at it.

            | Greenbud | Coventry Rhode Island USA | No I haven’t done a soil test this year , not sure the labs were working this spring with COVID and all ! just winging it this year like last year .the soil should have everything in it they need , hopefully that 40 grams of gypsum I put in breaks down for the plant to use ? Guess it did last year everything went fine ! Being giants and all was wondering if they could use something more ? There in 30 gallon containers , thanks . | 6/9/2020 9:01:06 PM |

            | Greenbud | Coventry Rhode Island USA | Have no fear tough, I know how important the Ph is , it’s at around 6.9 . I only water with rain water or gutter water at a ph of 6 which will bring that down slowly throughout the season! I know Im gambling this year , I won’t next year . I didn’t know I’d be growing these giants this year until just a few months ago ! | 6/10/2020 11:00:54 AM |

            | Porkchop | Central NY | A little cal mag here and there won't hurt but if you are dialed in at 6.9 with a good mix you won't run out....plant training will be your key to success...yer gonna need some panty ho for that 6.55.... just sayin | 6/10/2020 11:21:24 AM |

            | Greenbud | Coventry Rhode Island USA | Yup all sounds good will do , soil should be a really good mix , my deal will be.proper pruning , never amputated beautiful plants so much before will hurt my soul, ha ha , but will ! Anyway I’ll study Marv,s. Book on that and ask you great people if I need to , and your 6.55 are looking great with megas bigger than a quarter now ! The only deal is very very compact plants with leaves very bunched together . Might have to lose some ? Will get better pictures on diary prolly this weekend when I can straighten That out ! | 6/10/2020 12:24:12 PM |
