               Do you ever prune off the first branches when putting the young plants in the ground to allow a deeper start?   Just a "C" grower trying to get these maters off to the best start I can.

               Ned you will end up pruning all the branches off and only leaving the main stem. Now some growers might keep a second main stem to improve their odds, but i personally don't.

               Yep,take them off and bury up to the next leaves.in my case I just end up pulling off the cot leaves because my plants are small when they go in.

               Thanks guys.. I'm on it.. I like this tomato stuff a little more relaxing and something to do while my pumpkins aren't doing much.
