            | Bob Attaway | Flowery Branch, Georgia | I have a plant which was very healthy looking when I planted it, initial cotylons, no true leaves. One month later it looks exactly like it did the day I planted.

 Any and all opinions welcome?

            | Maxboostbusa (Rick) | Winston Salem NC | I had it happen on a giant bushell gourd seedling. a month later it still had no first true leaf, but the cots were thick and leathery. Not sure why it happened thought 3 others that were from the same seeds and in the same soil and germ. box were all fine. | 6/28/2009 12:31:15 PM |

            | duff | Topsfield, Ma. | Got the same situation going on here Bob on one of my own seeds. Double planted out and not much activity showing after 3 weeks. Planted a back-up...waited...and planted another back-up...and just lately seeing some growth on the last plant. Been cold and wet and possibly the reason for slow take-off...? Then again the 123 Michaud started under same conditions and time frame is approx 3' up the trellis!106 Lovelace is a close second for vertical achievement...:-)

            | Alan E. | eastern Ontario | With both AGs and LGs I have had a plant or two do that every spring. That is,no true leaves start at all.I believe it is because an earwig gets in there and eats the leaf bud.
To stop that I spray around the pot or on the ground around the seedling with Sevin, that works most of the time.

            | VTJohn | Jericho Vermont | I drench with merit before and after they are set out. I have had problems with the corn seed maggots in the past and the merit seems to help. I am sure it takes care of other buggers as well.
