Does anyone know how many pounds a 1000-square-foot plant can get with several pumpkins? Do you know who has achieved, for example, 6000-7000-8000 pounds in a plant? Would it be possible to get 20 pumpkins of 300-350-400 pounds?
Are there any guiness of the records of this modality? LoL
It wouldn't be bad if some club launched this challenge.
We are thinking of doing something in Spain. Someone knows someone who has gotten a lot of pounds?

I'd have to look, but that year I went with bigger plants, I'd guess around 1400 sqft but I'll have to check my notes if I measured the plant at the end of the season.

I agree Andy, 2k x2k is certainly doable, as long as the plant has enough size. If I were going to do this I would provide a space that is big enough for two plants and plant the seedling in the middle of it. Train two main vines using the main vine and the back main vine. once you have two mains growing 180 to eachother use the plant vine layout of your choice. THe big challenge would be to get both main vines big enough to hit the ideal pollination window. Carbon dioxide would help for sure. The other challenge that might crop up would be a foaming stump? as the stump would get truly massive with those two massive vines originating from such a tight area. Using this method would be like being able to grow two plants off the same seed. If someone had a high value seed and they pulled it off just right....WHo knows what the size potential could be!

I believe someone tried it this year with on of Travis' seeds and had 50-60 pumpkins on it, not sure what they weighed.

Back in 2018 I had a plant that I couldn't get a pumpkin to take where I wanted it, and I thought the timeline was too late. I let the plant go to see what would happen. It filled in about 1,600 sq ft. At the end of the year there were about 12 pumpkins in random spots that I had to haul out ranging from 250-800lbs est. They were all most likely pollinated after July 25

Ya my friend frosty was close to 20k with 3 plants. Which is insane and he is only in his state half the time. I will have him sort out per plant this year and get some exact totals but he does it every year and I just shake my head lol

If I remember way back years ago some growers had a theory that each leaf on a plant represents x number of lbs.? So I guess on average how many leaves in 1,000 square foot plot and start from there? IDK
