I know this topic has been hashed over many times, but it is just now affecting my pumpkin. Can't imagine there is much anything you can do. Sits on 1/4 inch plywood with sand, and
stays very dry. Pumpkin is about 275 lbs now, and can see the blossom end moving to grow over. Any comments?

Before it goes over completely, and you can't access it anymore put some fungicide on the nub to prevent rot.

VTW, is there a fungicide you would recommend?

So when the blossom end grows over is that a deal breaker?
I think I can prevent the end rot (famous last words) with
VTW's advice. Just by past experience, this kin has an 800
lb potential on my 240 sq ft patch, so happy with that!

Hey, kurt/gus,
see my diary about simply an example that I had in 2015;
***Be sure to see both pics.
Not a solution but a not-to-worry;
Amused that, butt not surprised that, no one has thought that the blossom end
is lightest and could be shimmed up over a week or two.
***Do not try it because I mentioned it, butt it's a thought for the future,
and where else to mention it?
Good Luck---eric g

Any fungicide will work on it. Just use what you have. If it is a powder moisten the spot so it will stick good.

Protect for varmits (mice) as once it sucks up under, it will be a perfect place to build a mouse home. Keep an eye on it.

You can paint Daconil on it and it sticks well. And good point, Wizzy.

Getting Daconil today! Wizzy, any suggestions on how to keep the mice from going in at last minute (it's sitting on 1/4 inch plywood with sand right now.

Im not Wizzy... but I put peppermint under my (intentional) blossom down pumpkin. Not sure how well it will work... The idea is that critters wouldnt want to be trapped in a "cave" with a smell they hate. There's a wide variation in how hungry and determined the local critters are so natural solutions that work in one place would be asking for trouble elsewhere.

Thanks all, great suggestions! Going with Daconil on blossom, some peppermint, some cayenne sprinkles, and a friend (not on BP) said put a few little dessicant packs
in the cavity--can't do much more than that, right?

Mousetraps work well.
