The California Pumpkin Growers Club is thrilled to announce a new California GIANT Pumpkin Weighoff! The GPC approved “Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento National Pumpkin Weighoff at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm” will be held in Yuba County each year on the last Saturday in September. In 2023 that date is September 30. Our team is assembling a fantastic lineup of sponsors with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento as the lead sponsor. The weighoff will pay $9 a pound for first place with a total of $53,800 in prize money paying to 25th place. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards for other sanctioned vegetables as well as a Future Farmers category for young people ages 6 to 17. Check out the site online at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm. It is the best family friendly pumpkin atmosphere we could hope for. Mark the date now, plan for that extra pumpkin, and come to Yuba County, California for the highest paying weighoff in the World.
