Can someone tell me what variety or varieties of cantaloupe were the ancestors of today's giants? Thanks.

The recent giants all trace back to a cantaloupe grown by Don Murphy of Pink Hill, NC. Tony Prochaska's 76.1 pound cantaloupe is the most recent record grown out of this lineage. The Pink Hill type is definitely the type you want if you are trying for a Guinness record cantaloupe.
