I have never needed to reposition a pumpkin before. I have her on plywood with mill fabric on top the plywood. Should I be sliding the pumpkin on the fabric, or the fabric sliding on the plywood? Scant layer of sand on top the mill fabric.

You will have to pull the plywood if you put sand down.

I pulled mine out last week just like Bubba said. I put 4 of our bed pillows in plastic garbage bags between the strap around the pumpkin, backed up the jeep so the ball hitch was at the angle I wanted, attached the come along and moved it. I only moved it about 2-3 inches just enough to relieve some vine tension. The pumpkin was around 500 when I did it. Now it's 700 and I'm going to do it one more time tomorrow.
