I just pollinated a three lober. I have never even seen a three lober before. Do you guys think that the number of lobes has any other influence on the pumpkin besides the number of seed chambers inside the pumpkin. What about outside shape? Any inluence from the number of lobes to outside shape? I also wonder about the physical stability of the pumpkin as it grows. Does only having 3 seed chambers create a less structurally sound pumpkin or more structurally sound? It would seem the more internal seed cavity dividing walls inside the pumpkin would make it more stable and less chance of collapse.

I think a three lober will be longer than a four or five from the same plant.I like 4s for hold together shape more than threes and 5's.

I like three lobers, I have no problem with them. Ron Wallace's 2201 last year was a three lober and it was enormous and super heavy to the chart. I prefer long low pumpkins as those high wheels have always gone light for me on the scales

I just pollinated a three loner on my 1940 Ureña, and funnily enough even before I opened the flower I guessed it might be a 3 lober because the baby kin was a inch wide and 2 in long, kinda a wierd baby lol, I hope it takes!

My 3 lober turned into a butternut squash shape. I will be culling it tomorrow.
