It's hard to believe it's been almost ten years since the 350.5 Kent was weighed at the SOGPG weigh-off in 2013. It gave Chris' little car all it wanted and I was shocked at how low it was sitting. Video courtesy of Bubba Presley.

It's hard to believe a record could stand for so long with so many growers competing and sharing seeds and knowledge. Years ago it was much more of a close lipped situation. For some reason melons of record size dimensions do not tend to go heavy in the same way world record pumpkins do. Usually they go light. Even the 350.5 was only 1% heavy, which I am sure most melon growers would be thrilled to get off a melon that size.
