Once again, I am seeing posts from auction hosts seeking confirmation from some lot winners. Lack of attention can often hold up other confirmed winners from receiving the lots. This seems to be more prevalent in the silent auctions, due perhaps to people not paying attention after the conclusion of the auction that lot winner(s) did not claim all sets.
Everyone needs to understand and appreciate what work it takes to host an auction, from emailing growers for donations, assembling lots, and mailing out to winners. It's flat out rude to keep auction hosts from receiving timely confirmations.
Our auction this year will feature a one-week deadline for declared winners to confirm. If they don't do so in that time frame, the lot(s) will be offered to the second highest bidder.

Maybe there should be a list of those that do not respond or pay for winning lots and kept on the site and forbid them to bid or revoke their membership to this site. Just a thought.

I have often thought of that, but loathe the idea of calling anyone out. This is going to be my final solution. Second highest bidders keep a sharp eye out.

OK if it is a silent auction I can see this happening. I often go in and start the bidding, I do not keep track of all the lots I bid on..unless it is a lot I really want. So I appreciate an email stating what lots were won. For me it is easier as my email is shown. If you don't post who won how do they know they won.

I will update in the auction room as lots are claimed and who has right to the next set(s) until all are claimed. I don't have emails for all people who fail to respond. Please, when you bid, write down which lots(s) you bid on and check back at the auction's conclusion. I'll have a reminder in the auction's rules, terms, and conditions.

As an example of what COULD make it easier for someone like ME, at least, here is a basic and a SHORTENED (second one) entailment of what bidders have to make note of when replying upon a winning bid(s); NO 'EXAMPLE' BEING MADE; ALL auctions are excellent and this i just what I do. I have to quickly (& I mean QUICKLY) drag and hit 'copy' on the Chat text with the cursor before my screen refreshes the below:
All winning bidders please send immediately a confirmation email to the Xxxxtion at: YER MAMA @gmail.com Please include the following information in your email. 1 - BigPumpkins Screen Name 2 - Real Name 3 - Lot(s) # Won 4 - Winning Bid Amount and the total amount. 5 - Shipping Address (entire address as it should appear on the bubble) 6 - Please write the lot number(s) in the subject line of the message.

Yes, all this information may be in that Auction's itinerary, but I Am That I Am, so sayeth ME:
Mildly truncated for easier and faster copying, as WELL as easier to confront on-screen, lol:
Winning bidders IMMEDIATELY email us at SXXD AUXXION@gmail.com IN your email: *Put Your WINNING LOT number(s) in 'Subject' ONLY *BigPumpkins Name *YOUR Real Name *Lot(s) # Won *Winning Bid Amount(S) with eventual TOTAL *YOUR Shipping Address
///(Slashes) between would be even more condensing. I then place this into my email body, which can be ALREADY READY and then whittle away at it, thereby not forgetting anything and keeping it in the right order while the next lot of interest is approaching. (Ever wonder why a bidder 'disappears' after a winning bid???) Waste of time. I'll not hafta wait intentionally until the end of the auction since I'll have just incorporated this for myself. It might take me 1-3 days max. to PAY, but I do and I'll always make a point of it to respond initially/immediately/same day. Bidders need to stay on the ball and do all of everyone's above. A WEEK with no reply would be yes, NOT GOOD. Now, I gotta go tell my phone provider that that BS message to callers is too God-D..... ....! Eric G

I appreciate it. Our rules, terms, and conditions will be quite explicit and already include the information you suggest.

I got on that list because of an innocent mistake by the auction, which can happen. But I know that is rare and from watching this site, I can understand your frustrations. Forgetting is one thing, no intent to pay for what you bid on is another.

The main thing to take away, guys, is to keep an eye on the responses on the lot(s) you bid on at the conclusion of the auction. You just may have an option on an unclaimed lot won by a higher bidder AND get it at YOUR bid price.
