I'm sure the younger guys do not know who he is, but at 1 time he was a big name in growing pumpkins. He had a heart attack last night and passed away. He worked with my wife and they talked often about me and pumpkins. He finally got both knees fixed and was looking forward to growing next year. Rest in peace brother, you will be missed

That's too bad, he was a good dude. I'll never forget him bringing a 1400#er to Canfield in a little ford ranger.

I never met Brooks in person but in our emails back and forth it always felt like he was a friend I had known for many years.. Joke around with and just be yourself. He was a funny dude, always made me laugh. I also learned a lot about growing pumpkins from him, he had lots of tips for me that I had never heard from other growers. He was the first one to get me started on using daconil straight from the bottle to heal up wounds on the pumpkin and stem splits. It sounded so crazy, but I trusted him and it worked like a "liquid fan". LOL. He was a grower who I looked forward to meeting in person one day. My condolences to his family. I still got some Bosworth seeds in the vault, it may be time for a tribute grow.

Very sad to hear. We exchanged emails talking fishing stories, and he sent me varieties of seeds to grow. He was a character.
I'll never forget the "16 hour shit" post on here that was a simple typo.

Brooks was a great guy with the best sense of humor!
Brooks was very helpful in making the Barnesville Ohio Pumpkin Festival Weigh-Off what it is today.
In 2007, Brooks won the Barnesville Weigh-Off with a 1289 pounder.
He will be missed!!!

RIP Boz...my silly pumpkin on line brother. Many laughs here and crazy fun emails. One of a kind dude. Here is an example of him doing an Eddy Z. impersonation in 2012 on a meet-n-greet thread here on bp.com.
Yes I agree Scott, and Ill start first.
My name is Eddy Zgjhdgfgreldewqsfghy..
they call me the IceMan and Im from Canada, sometimes WIZ and BIZ have trouble spelling my last name because it has letters in it that is 4 miles and 3/4 long.
Also, Wiz and Biz Idolize me and want to be like me, really, who can really blame them? They try every year to scheme and try to grow bigger pumpkins then I do, but we all know the truth here in Pumpkin land that will never happen only unless I let them beat me cause I feel sorry for them. I just decided the other day I might let the two brothers hold all my pumpkin trophys, but only after they wash their greasy hands but can only hold them for a few split seconds.
Love, Iceman.
