What's anyone doing to protect their plants and pumpkins from the storm that coming to the northeast this weekend?

With what they've been through with ME growing them, nothing, lol, but, that's just ME. Admittedly, I have great PLANTS this year and everything is behind schedule massively; most pollinations were at decent dates and locations, but the fruits are nice but nowhere near their usually-promising weights and sizes for this time annually. Hence, since the plants are all stocky with hydration and essentially weigh more, more rain coming straight down is not a concern. It'd be strong WINDS that would wreck my day, which only...3 plants have true protection from. My 'pet' deer is handling the rest, and my spotty good luck---eg

The weather in the the northeast has been super weird this year. It was great leading up until pollination and than it started raining non stop for a couple weeks and now we have a huge storm coming

No hurricanes here, but bad wind and tornados (ie Joplin) in Mo. I’ve had wind knock out my patch in 30 seconds. If possible, add a wind barrier. Also cover the pumpkin with a couple layers to prevent damage from hail and debris.

Thanks, Smallmouth - an ominous and sobering reminder! eg Jeez, my internet is so slow today, I might be better off to send a letter to Ken and have him type in all my mumbo-jumbo!

Thanks Smallmouth. I reinforced the wind fencing. The extra layers on the pumpkins is a great idea. There will be stuff flying.

Honestly I don't plan to do anything, I just hope for the best. If it was for a tornado then I would definitely protect the fruit for hail. This is gonna suck.. I hope I am wrong.
