I'm leaning in one direction but my inner George Costanza is telling me different. The one on the main is small, good stem. The one on the secondary 12 feet out and has a thick stem and it's only a foot off the main. Day three and it's clearly outperforming the one on the main. I know it's early but the one on the secondary looks so good! I'm not looking for a world record, just the best chances for a PB. The 1281 Butler plant is incredible, no issues just a lot of choices, never seen so many females.

Too many feems - not a bad problem to have! If i went into that plant's favorite bar, I'd hope I had put on extra cologne, lol. Well, anyway, I had the same thing happen to me as I removed my 188 plant from its greenhouse at 11 pm;

It HAD to get out and the main is fine, but an immediate secondary with a marble on it broke off its tip so now, I also have a secondary with 8-12 inches of vine with no tip and I'm interested to see if that will become a biggie with technically a foot-long stem on it, lol.

I think the consensus will be to wait until each is at least 20 DAP because it cannot be told whether either will outgrow the other at this point. At least they're not BOTH on the main, which sometimes adds to the indecision---eg

Secondary sets tend to grow quicker early on compared to main sets, but when the important days come, main usually wins out. I’ve had quite a few secondaries over the years and they are a horse out the gate growing 7cc by day 10. I’d wait a bit and re-evaluate.

One foot out on the secondary you might have placement problems in a month or two when it gets big, you have to think into the future and how the vines will trail around a large pumpkin.

Id try to go with the one on the main. As Luke mentioned secondary fruit start out faster but the main is gonna grow a bigger one.

The side vine teaser will tempt me for a while longer I imagine.
