I made a real amateur mistake and didn't test run the starter mix that I used to germinate my seeds. I guess there was something in it that they didn't like and stop growing a couple days after germinating. I then made an even dumber mistake by adding fertilizer to try and get them going which I forgot that you're not really supposed to do when they're little. The backup plant literally died and the other 2 look very sick. They might snap out of it but I'm already a couple weeks behind and I don't feel like playing catch up again after all the effort I spent getting a new patch ready.

If anyone has a couple backup plants that they don't want I'd be happy to have them. Will need them to be shipped to me because non-essential travel is banned in BC. I don't really care what the progeny is, would just like a couple plants that are close to or have already laid down on the ground. I'll paypal you whatever the shipping costs are and will add a little extra for your help.

Let me know. Thanks

Did you restart seeds? One of my best years I didn’t start my seeds until may 28

This happened to me, and if you have some seeds in bulk you don’t mind taking a risk with, direct sew in plant site given it’s warm enough. That’s what I do with my variety porch type pumpkins. I’ll put like 15 down in a spot at varying depth 1/2 inch to 2 inches down. Something or many will be up and the cull down to one with best position. With the amount of seeds out there, surely you have 50 you can do this with and save a week on indoor and transplant shock time.

Yes I did restart some seeds yesterday. I had extra seeds of the ones I lost so I guess that aspect isn't lost. Maybe if september is warm again like last year I can still grow something nice. I'm quite surprised no one had a backup to ship but I guess it's understandable, it's kind of an unusual request.

In my case it was the need for anything that was at or near vining already - in other words, i have plenty of wannabes that are in clear drinking cups and would have loved to be en route to somewhere. I'm envisioning a postal worker bringing some Gerrys in fast food drink carriers up to your door...next time, lol---good luck! eg

I'd take anything at this point, vining or not. Still waiting on the new batch to germ and I'm now a month behind. What a disaster.

Pumpkinpal please email if you still have some you're willing to ship: Jordanpumpkin1@hotmail.com

Email sent. Always be able to walk the walk, lol!
I'll think of shipping tactics whilst I sleep now.
I was even looking at two empty cardboard orange juice containers with a renewed longing, lol---eg
