The California Pumpkin Growers Webinar was a huge success so we are looking for ideas for next year. One idea being floated is to find 5-8 growers who are willing to document their growing efforts this year(2021) then do a Webinar "patch tour" with each grower talking about their efforts. If you are interested in being one of these growers shoot me an email. We are also interested in any other topics that you all may want to hear in a webinar setting so send us your ideas. californiapumpkingrowers@gmail.com

I would think a soil scientist would help with soil amending strategies for growers and a plant geneticist might shed some light on how to plan crosses and seed selection.

I'm equally curious to hear what these growers try that doesnt work as what did work.
People dont talk as much about mistakes it seems but it saves me a lot of learning curve to learn from other people's mistakes, in addition to successes.

Have the growers document their season, do the webinar thing, but also provide PDF's or documents around soil tests, amendments etc. And yes, share mistakes and things that didn't work.

Having growers dealing with different factors would be interesting to see as well.
