The SCGA sends me seeds for 2.40(no tracking, small bubble). Bigger thicker bubbles will go as parcels so trick is to get them sent as first class flatmail or lettermail.

USA has an inefficient system. Like for example to go to my friend 10 miles away and ship a small envelope it costs $4. Reason being: it had to travel 500 miles to get there. Went all around my state. Add in international and there are a bunch of forms on top of inefficiency.

some of it depends on how you want the package sorted, thin bubbles can go through a machine that may crush your seeds. Someone may send you a thicker bubble so it is treated as a package and machines are not used

It is getting kind of crazy. Mailed a 1 lb 6"x6" box for $37 today. I laughed and said it is not express. She told me that would be $85

It cost me $14.50 To send to UK from Minnesota, USA and then a couple days ago, the postal worker said it has gone up to $16.75 and I said when did this happen... she looked at me with a smirk and said yesterday. It cost more to ship then seeds are worth in some cases lol.

I joked with my postal worker that "Just an arm and a leg... good because an arm and a leg and an eye would be too much." Depemding how much a person weighs, the cost per pound of sending a package overseas is pretty much equal to buying an airline ticket for ones self.

International around here is 15$, 10 minutes at the post office to fill out the forms and just sent seeds to Ruben that took 1 month and 4 days!

I embed my seeds in cardboard and send in a regular looking business envelope. One forever stamp for domestic, and about $2.40 for international. I have never had a problem in dozens of shipments like this! In fact, usually when someone asks if they can send me an SASBP I just tell them, “Hey I’ll just take care of it!”
But when it comes to auctions, people might have paid $$$ for those seeds and the accepted method is to use an SASBP. So that’s what I do for those. Typically $4 to $4.50 domestic (insane that they have to look each one up!) and $14 international. More next year. Talk about inefficient! You have to stand in line and personally attend to each and every one! Designed by a government bureaucrat.
