I see in the Giant Watermelon Growers auction that they list loupes. I have never heard of loupes and when I google it, all I get are the magnifying glass loupes. Someone please enlighten me. Thanks.

LJ Many years ago I think we stopped to get gas in your town and purchased some huge cantaloupes. Now they are not the giants they grow for competition. But I thing they and watermelons would do well for you.

If that's the case, then, that auction is the best example of those, ever! i also believe there's an offer of giant watermelon seeds with any lot bought for $ XX~~or more as well---eg

Competitive growers wanting to set a world record would be wise to consider giant cantaloupes. The current record is reasonably within reach for most growers and large ones have been grown from Alaska to Texas. Lots of Canadian growers will plant them this year. A 12 ft. x 12 ft. space in a sunny area is large enough to grow a record cantaloupe.

Very good advice! Pretty soon, the Christmas Ham will be replaced by the Christmas Cantaloupe! * * * I have a joke for y'all:
What do you get when you toss a Cantaloupe to an Antelope? I don't know either, but that lion watching him try to eat it won't be going hungry!!! haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah - eg

Cantaloupe taste very good even when giant, and bigger is better, so it is a win win situation!
