Subject: How deep to should i dig?

Heres a general question: I am in the process of correcting my soil, adding topsoil, peatmoss and perlite.
How deep do recommend adjusting the soil? A foot?
Also how deep should the corrected soil be around th planting hole? 3 feet?
Just looking for recommendations.

dig as deep as you can a foot is good 18 inches is better 2 foot is great. do this for the entire patch so 30 foot by 30 foot.
