I see that there were over twenty 2000+ pumpkins in 2020! Wow!! I would like to know if any of these were grown outdoors or all greenhouse grown? Kudos either way, just curious if this benchmark has ever been hit outside grown.

Congrats to all of those growers. I think the 2350 Giengier and 2304 Geddes where grown outdoors. Not sure on the others. The 2528 Geddes was grown outdoors and is the North American record as well as the 2517 Haist.

The 2268 Leblanc was also grown outside. I think greenhouse is becoming more common though.

I figured seven out of top 23 2000lbers were grown in a true greenhouse.northern europe is too cool to grow that size without a greenhouse.One from wisconsin is greenhouse.Mendi's and the italian giants were grown under netting most of the year because theyre too hot normally.The 1990 marintzer was grown in a greenhouse in hot eastern kansas.That really impresses me cause excessive heat and fungal problems are a foe for them.Theres no one location that has 5 months of ideal temps without some climate/temperature modification.
