Congrats to all the growers who exhibited today at the OVGPG weigh-off. I think I have posted all of the results to BP.com. Please check your results and e-mail if there are any discrepancies.
137 Entries were exhibited and almost 60,000 lbs of giant veg was on display. 1 Potato, 3 Marrows, 7 Long Gourds, 7 Bushel Gourds, 11 Tomatoes, 14 Watermelons, 16 Sunflowers, and 61 Giant Pumpkins and Squash.
At least three state records were set.
Thank you for your patience.
A big THANK YOU to growers near and far for bringing their exhibits to our Weigh-Off.
Sincerely,
Nick Harp and all of the OVGPG directors

Outstanding weigh-off as usual. Maybe a GPC Top 10 award also. Thanks to all who worked to make this possible.

Greetings growers. I would like to take a moment and personally thank the directors and volunteers for their efforts yesterday. What a great team to work with. Additionally we had quite a few new growers and continue to be well supported by our tenured memberships. I think I can speak for all the directors when I say, this support along with the well wishes and gratitude voiced yesterday is what makes serving the OVGPG a pleasure. What a fine group. Thanks for a great day, Tim Parks

The weighoff was held outside, with everyone sitting on hay bales - just like the old days - enjoying the beautiful sunny day and excitement of the weighoff. The OVGPG team was so efficient in bringing all those pumpkins to the scale in record time. Thanks to all of you who made it happen for the rest of us to enjoy! Special thanks to Tim Parks and Nick Harp. It was so nice to talk to the new growers showing their excitement and enthusiasm!

cojoe,
Glenna Rae's handle on BP.com is Nana Rae. Her diary entries are some of my favorites. You should check them out. She grows big and orange pumpkins to boot!
