This is complete insanity! If you live in the United States of America you should be with your pumpkin, end of discussion! I get overseas they cannot be out of the country so it's needed. Here we shouldn't be entertaining this, I see lots of problems.

I would respectfully disagree. Situations come up, especially during the pandemic. I might have to use this because my tennis season was moved by 2 weeks. If I make it to state I unfortunately can't be at state and a weigh-off at the same time. I would try my hardest to make it though. I would say you should fill out the information sheet with the pumpkin and talk to the weigh-off coordinator first. Then ask your club board members to come and see your patch or virtually see it to verify you were the grower.

You also have to think about some of our more senior growers. I'm sure there is nothing more they would like to do than see their pumpkin hit the scale, but maybe shouldn't be around crowds. I'm sure Facebook Live is the next best thing we can do to help those growers.
