Growers- As previously announced, The SCGA and its event organizer partners are committed to hosting the weighoff. A great many variables are up in the air right now, here are the currently known facts, some of which are subject to change: the event will NOT be in the park in Stillwater. City has shut down events through Nov. 1. The event will be virtual for non-participants. Growers are welcome to weigh on-site, of course, but the public will not be permitted. A virtual live stream of the event is being coordinated for all to access. There WILL be a prize structure. It will not be 100% of the $20k purse of a normal year, but there will be something. Prize structure details are a work in progress. Targeting Mid-Sept. to launch final structure. Guidance on exhibition fruit entry is currently being developed. Given the cancellations across the upper midwest we are gearing up for record entry turnout. This could become a logistics nightmare, please bear with us as we try to accommodate the need to weigh a record turnout in light of the help/resources we have.

Lastly, we would like to survey the level of participation interest outside of our local geography. If you are planning to bring one or more fruit to Harvestfest and will be travelling more than 3 hours to do so, respectfully asking for a heads up. We need to know how large of an area to prepare for, among many other logistical considerations. If you prefer not to tip your hand publicly, please send a private note to stcroixgrowers@gmail.com. We will promise confidentiality for all those who request it.

Second weekend in October often coincides with fall color tours. Hotels often fill to max capacity during this time. If you plan to stay overnight, strongly encourage booking early. Visit https://www.discoverstillwater.com/ to view lodging options. Any hotel in the Stillwater area will be within reasonable drive time to our eventual location.
