After seeing that sunflowers can be grown in trashcans, Henry and I have decided we want to start a new challenge for anyone interested. This would help increase our understanding of sunflowers, and maybe increase their overall height.
The challenge is as follows: can a 20+ foot sunflower be grown in 20 gallons? We will be offering a $200 Grand-Prize to the tallest sunflower grown this way next year.
The rules are simple: ▪you can grow as many as you want ▪your pot must be 20 gallons or less ▪you have to post your 20 gallon setup ▪drainage holes are allowed, just don't grow over tilled soil.
Anyone interested?

This sounds like a lot of fun. I really enjoyed growing sunflowers for the first time this year, and I only got to 12'.

Oh but one caveat, no one is allowed to get hurt. It's against the rules, right?

So no using rickety or makeshift steps/ladders?

Do we have to wear helmets and masks when climbing steps/ladders?

If you need helmets, I'd say that's a good thing! Glad to see people wanna try it. The hardest part has been keeping the bucket upright in strong wind
