Away on vacation last 2 weeks. Cane back to see my main vine has rotted at the base. It's basically rotted all the way through. Can I re bury the vine? Are there any options to saving this pumkin plant?

If the rest of the plant is rooted well and looking good it shouldn’t matter too much.. cut it off until u see healthy tissue. There’s a few diaries out there that show this...it happens. Happened to Karl Haist last year...he had to cut his plant free from the stump. He went on to do pretty well...not ideal but it’s why we do all the burying and rooting. Good luck Austin.

Cut it right off. I had a foaming stump I cut off just yesterday, and my pumpkin still grew 7 pounds last night, the same if not better, than it was growing before.

You don’t have to bury the end..sulpher/captan and make sure it heals.

Thanks guys. Some of the leaves close to stump are now getting yellow and some are getting white powdery mildew on leaves. Any options?
