Good luck to everyone in this storms path!

I'm hoping that my wind screen will stop most of the damage. Not looking forward to having to stake every leaf stalk my first time growing a pumpkin this size with so much time left.

Rolled through here flattening corn and pumpkins and rolling the vines into balls. Trees down and power out. Blew sheets off all the pumpkins. Could have been worse though if we would have gotten hail.

Crazy storm, but yes, thankfully no hail here!

Part of my wind block collapsed, but over all minimal damage. Maybe 5 broken leaves that i can prop back up. Lots of broken leaf veins though.

Unfortunately one of my pumpkins is sitting in a bit of water. Need to get that drained and dried.

We got hit bad in the Twin Cities last night, too. Not the wind, but 4" of rain in the 24 hour period (some areas south got closer to 6) and hail (had the warning for 2" in my city but I don't know we got much larger than pea or marble at my place). Hope the plant will keep trucking, but it was a real bummer on an otherwise good season.

My wife and I got caught in it in Cedar Rapids. She was taking me to see family practice doctor and then to Mercy for IV fluids and med. It went from dead calm to 100 mph in less than a minute. We were lucky as several large tree limbs hit our windshield and bounced off. Never made it to the doctor, huge power likes down, found a sheltered spot next to Mercy. Nercy was running on backup generators but wanted to help me. No elevators to get me to 3rd floor oncology, vertigo so bad I could not walk, but they got the would healing center to do the infusion. Problem was it was 1 floor lower than we were. One employee led us through the building, into parking ramp where we could get down a floor, then outside to ER entrance. The employee and my wife went through about 8 inches of cold water in the parking ramp. A nurse named Joy started my IV using a flashlight. While the battery IV pump was running the ER staff came and got 2 beds because they were swamped with injuries. The trip home which normally takes 15 minutes to get to edge of town took 90 minutes Cedar Rapids and Marion were basically shredded,

I am very worried about one smaller, older nursing home we went by. Parts of the roof were gone, and most of the windows were shattered. Huge steel towers running electric wires were twisted up like they were made of silly putty. Damage at home was not so bad. The watermelon hoop house was knocked down and one 35 year old ash tree in the yard lost a huge branch, narrowly missing the house. The power company had come by and cleared some of the trees across the road that came down and were near power lines and on the road.

I got up to golf ball sized hail. Super bummer as this girl was really growing. 866 lbs now, hoping there are enough leaves to give me another 150 before season ends.

I am OK. We got power on around midnight. No cell service. My daughter talked to Rusty Caspers, Pete's dad who said he would drive to get service and call REC. I don't know if he told them I depend on a feeding pump, but they came through for us. Most people are being told 4 to 5 days to get power back. No power means no gas stations or grocery stores. My 91 year old mother has a generator so she is OK. The amount of tree damage is far worse than I saw on the north side of Lake Ponchatrain after Katrina, and covers a much bigger area. Truly the most damage anyone here hs evbr seen.
