What colour do you get on plants with 'B' gene

Ive got a 2003 h plant that exhibits the b gene and its throwing a cream colored pumpkin. Ive got a 2517h plant thats showing stronger b gene traits and its throwing orange fruit. Not a hint of green in that plants vines.

Pretty confident the B gene or precocious gene does not influence color in fruit. I would guess that 1 out of every 3 pumpkins that I've grown has exhibited yellow splotches on the leaves from cold weather stress. These plants generally have a lot of yellow/orange in the vines but I've never had a true orange pumpkin. Most of mine have produced cream, pink and blue/green streaked fruit.

Turns out I'll have a chance to evaluate effects of 'B' gene on colour. I have a dark orange pumpkin (Chapman 495 2018) that was selfed. All seeds produce dark orange fruit. Grew ouyt about 5 last year.

Planted a number of them this year. I noticed one has the yellow 'B' gene stems.

Actually it should be called 'b' gene. In genetic code a capital letter is used for a dominant gene ( allele actually) and lower case for a recessive gene.

Not Chapman 495, actually

Chapman 496 2018 ( Detwiler 1351 x Clementz 1704)

Both dark orange

The B gene effects fruit color before ripening (yellow vs green fruit before flowering), but not after directly. It also has secondary effects in the vine and leaf, which are somewhat weather dependent. There are technically two different B genes, B in pepo and Bmax in maxima. It is unclear whether they are homologs or not. There is some evidence that b and l genes are epistatic for darker orange flesh in pepo but not rind color to my knowledge. This system is not well studied in maxima.
