I have a pumpkin that is growing very fast but has taken root near the pumpkin with no slack. Should I pull up the roots or cut them off. Had another pumpkin on the vine but it has not grown in a week. Should I cull it?

Some guys cut them off and some guys pull them up. I pull mine up gently as the pumpkin grows. I've had roots extend a 1 1/2' down from right under the kin still feeding the kin until season end. Will also pull gently on a couple of the nodes behind it. This way they are still feeding the kin. I have also cut them off which makes life much easier. Yes cull the other.

Lack of slack can lead to tilted pumpkins. Much luck Terry!
