Hi, Can anyone tell me how to modify an existing diary post and prevent pictures from rotating? I’m having technical difficulties with both. Thanks!

Modification of a previous post is not available. I have an i-phone and I have to take my pictures horizontal (sideways) to get them to post correctly. Others, may have better options.

using the square setting on the iPhone camera will eliminate the problem as well. Also the BigPumpkins app for iPhone will allow you to edit your posts. You can’t rotate a pic in the app but you can change it for another.

If you can edit posts with the app, will there be a way to edit them on the computer too, at some point?

I find that cropping all pics before posting even -if its just reduced by the narrowest sliver- eliminates the rotation issue on both apple and my other device.

@ G. Kins : What do you mean by "cropping" the pics. (sorry, but English isn't my native language)

Cropping is editing the image to only show a smaller portion of it. Like if you had a 11x14 inch printed photo and you cut an 8x10 inch printed photo out of it and discard the outer borders of the photo.

It's 2020 and this site was literally designed in the last century. You can't do anything that normal sites let you do. I was advocating for updates 5 years ago but no one seems interested. I understand that its free volunteer operated by one guy but given that it is the default official site of pumpkin growing I would like to see the GPC throw some money its way and get us something more user friendly.

Captain 97 seconded. It's annoying for everyone seeing upside down pics in the diaries, with nothing to be done about it. I just made an error myself and posted the wrong pic - nothing I can do. What do we have to do to bring this site into the 21st century?

A nice large donation to the site administrator would help I'm sure. Probably about time for people to update their Premium Membership too, I would guess. 21'st century costs a lot of money. For what this site gives for the price, I will never bitch nor look a gift horse in the mouth.

I enjoy the throwback aspect of this website, a reminder of the way we were. It's like the aroma of bread baking, fresh-brewed coffee in the morning, or the old Puyallup Fair Theme Song.

You can do it at a trot - you can do it at a gallop - you can do it real slow so your heart don't palpitate...just don't be late...do thuhhhhhh pew-allup; see, burned into my memory from the Joel Holland 'How I Grew the...' series. i get one every year, looking forward to each one as though it's Christmas Day! now, if i just applied more of the KNOWLEDGE that is on them...yearly, new PBs, i'll bet! later---eg
