I have a seedling that just came up a couple of days ago that I have some concern. I posted a pic on my Diary. The seedling in question has pale green, almost grayish cotyledons. It has the same seedstarting medium, the same additives, Mycorrhiza & Azos & the same lighting as my other plants. It does appear to be growing as it has a small first true leaf.
I am interested in people’s opinions. The mother plant was selfed & it’s foliage was unremarkable. I have seen a pic of another seedling from the same seed & it’s leaves are a dark green.
I don’t know what to think about it...disease, mutant, sometimes you just see this???
Anywho, tell me what you think.

Seems to be a normal genetic variation. Wait to see what true leaves look like.
If regular leaves are also paler, then the plant will not grow as well as the others.

Looks fine to me as well. Some kind of get a glossy, grey finish. Some will twist, and one will sometimes look like a dumbo ear while the other stalls in growth. I’d be more concerned with the first few leaves.

check the picture and see if the ? tomato plant next to it has a touch of what the AG has as well - little wilty around the edges, maybe? could be, in that case, sensitivity to the seed-starting mix, but the true leaves are, as was said, the best indicator, in a few days - good luck! eg

Thanks everybody!
Pumpkinpal2, those plants were placed there under the lights 2 hours before the pic so simply coincidence. The tomato was a little dry(since watered.)

Cute pup, the cots on the one looks young still. I'm guessing it looked more normal a couple days later.

Let us know what happens. Virus or genetics would be my guesses. I had one that threw yellow plants. I planted a bunch (it was my own seed) and I figured out that it was genetic.
