Since I have decided to grow this year, and to put all my eggs in one basket, I am looking for a good source for a hail net for one plant. In my case, it also has to protect from softballs...home runs are irritating. I went to amazon, and did not feel the effort to wade thru pages of items that would not work. I am looking for like a 30 x 30 ft hail net, that does not obscure too much light. Does anyone have any quick suggestions for site.

plantra.com and click on bird netting and then insect netting. ( their insect netting is better for protecting from hail than their hail netting)

One choice is greenhouse mega store can sew you up a 30 x 30 piece of 22% white shade cloth-its good stuff but pricey.Amazon and ebay have carried 30 by 50 and 30 x 100 hail netting but neither has it in stock. prob made in china in the wuhan district. Ive been watching for it to get offered again-havent checked this week.

I looked at greenhousemegastore.com . They offer 20% up to size 20x24. The custom sizes start at 30%. I want to put up the net and leave it all year. I have a little over a month to find the best possibility. Three years ago, i lost the season to hail. A few hundred dollars of insurance would be a bargain.
