Posted pics in my diary. Online has scattershot explanations. Had 100+ crawling on the snow. I guess they are abominable snow worms because the birds won't eat them. The birds were busy digging for real worms today. These were wiggling happily atop the snow. Easy pickings, but the birds weren't going for them. Don't know if they are parasitic or herbivores or saprotrophs like earthworms.
I've seen many of this species in the soil too, they did not fall out of the sky. Looking for more info & want to know if anyone else has seen these, thanks.

I have never seen them, thanks for posting. They do look parasitic.

while i have never seen them on the snow i did find several earthworms a few years back while rolling snow to make a snowman but they were underneath the snow
