Anyone else on the west coast experiencing awful weather this month? We've had 15 straight days of rain here and very cool temps. It's kinda frustrating. The weather in July wasn't too great either.

Hey Jordan, yes it’s been a cooler and wetter September than we are used to on West Coast, even in the banana belt of Vancouver Island.

Will you be bringing your pumpkin to the Krause Berry Farm Weighoff this year? Sure be nice to finally meet after all these years on by.com.

Hey glenn, I'm not too sure where I'll be bringing mine to yet. It might be kinda difficult to go to the coast as my parents are going to give me a lift to the weigh off & it can be kinda tricky to work around everyone's schedule. But I guess we'll wait & see.

Yes it has been wet & wild. The storm last week up-rooted many of my vines and busted a lot of leaves. I have a support system for my sunflowers 17 foot steel posts with app. 150 pounds of cement and rock on every post buried. It started to blow over during the storm. I had to drive additional anchors for support.

Its down in Oregon too. Just been a test from beginning to end this season. From the looks of it, we will not see a pumpkin come out of Oregon that is within 1000 pounds of what Steve put on the scale last year. Maybe a few that are close, but just had no way to combat the weather on a scale large enough to get those bigger weights.

Jordan, I just learned about the Vernon Tourism Giant Pumpkin Weighoff at Davison Orchard on October 19th. Too bad there is a conflict with our Weighoff or I would have brought a giant and entered the contest.

Good luck, is this the contest you are entering?
