Believe it or not, over here in Germany a pressure canner with jars is NOT available. They still do it the old fashioned way - put your jar into boiling water for an hour and hope it will still be ok next year...
Is there a manufacturer you would recommend or someone willing to send it to me - I offer PayPal for payment.
Cheers, Ingo from Germany

I have this one, it works well is priced reasonably and is simple to use. You can do up to 7 quarts at a time.

Presto is a good brand and so is Mirro. I have both. I prefer the type with the wobbler weighted gauge instead of the dial gauge. The USDA recommends having the dial gauges checked at least once per year for safety. If they stick you could build up way too much pressure. Here in Iowa, all of the Extension Service offices will check them for you, but that service may not be available in Germany. With the wobbler gauge, you just have to keep the steam hole open and keep the rubber seal and over-pressure button in good condition. It takes a little practice to adjust your heat to keep the wobbler going a couple times a minute, and that is easier with a gas stove than it is with electric. It won't hurt if the wobbler rattles continuously, as it is letting off pressure when that happens.
