Dale what a fantastic achievement growing over 2000lbs in one of the most alien environments. My hat is well and truly off for you.

Ian the guy is a beast. It would probably blow your mind just sitting down and listening to him explain how he manages to get that greenhouse soil heated up to temp before transplants can go in. I'm am a big fan of Dale!! It was only a matter of time for him :)

I posted the newspaper article on Facebook and there were some comments about how unfair it is to compare pumpkins grown in a greenhouse compared to outdoors. Really? My response was that I've seen the video for what it takes to warm the soil in the spring. Growing in a greenhouse in Alaska most years isn't as good as growing in Ohio in the outdoors. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow in those environments. I can see one of the Park City ski resorts chairlifts from my house. It is literally just the other side of the mountain from me. I only had one summer night low over 60 degrees and I wouldn't trade Dale for his growing environment. Kudos to him. He climbing Everest without oxygen tanks and a bit of an inspiration for anyone who grows in challenging environments.

Ian, Carl , Jamie.. thanks for the positive feed back..thats awesome, like most growers I just try to improve in the craft every year , sometimes you strike out and every once in a while you hit a home run, this year was the best weather I
've ever had in 11 years growing , so that really helped out in a magical season..still hard to believe

EACH SEASON IS A DO-OVER, WITH A CHANCE TO DO GREAT THINGS.

BABE RUTH DID NOT HIT A HOME RUN EVERY TIME HE STEPPED TO THE PLATE BUT? WHEN HE DID ?-"LOOK OUT"

GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT

That "best weather" you ever had was still a roller coaster ride here in Alaska. You deserve the accolades. See you next August

Congrats Dale. An amazing result for an amazing grower in an incredibly tough environment. Just imagine what he could do if he was in Southern New England.
