Typically day 30 through 60 after pollination is when the pumpkin will pack on the most weight. So assuming that you pollinated in mid to late June, this growth peak will coincide with August. August is pretty warm as well so that helps.

August is also when powdery mildew raises its ugly head in our area. With the warmer weather, we get high humidity and the slowest wind speeds of the year. And the plant's leaves are getting older. So if you want to keep packing on those pounds, make sure that you don't let the PM run wild.

Hey thanks. Appreciated your response.. Another ? I am mixed up on measuring kin...does one measure from stem to bottom and then horizontally? I am reading in a book that says there are 3 measurements....I am confused...what is the 3rd measurement.

measurements are over the top from stem to blossom, over the top side to side, and circumference parallel to the ground
