Been researching fungicides, and wondering if anyone out there uses heritage in the granular form, and if so, what rate are you using, and when are you applying it?

1/4 tsp per gallon, weekly in my rotation

Dan, I haven’t used the granular stuff in a couple years. I want to say about 8oz per plant, early July time. And double that in early August. My memory could be off though. I use the liquid the last few years.

Johnny, just a heads up, that heritage is a very effective fungicide but has to be used in rotation. The category of fungicide and mode of action it is, the disease colonies quickly build up a resistance to it. Best to only use it twice or three times a season.

Jim (if I remembered the wrong name I apologize) so about 1/2 pound granular per plant. How did you spread it? Also, what liquid do you currently use? Thanks!

I think so but I’d want to check the label. I’d go light on it. I know that heritage has been known to cause damage to some types of foliage like apple leaves. But OVGPG has had it in their spray program (maybe check with them). I’ll take a picture of the heritage label and post it to my diary. I haven’t used it yet this year. I’m going with “less is more” this year. I will probably use it after my pumpkins hit D50 this year.

Thanks Jim. Heres what I figured out:

Heritage (Quadris) is 22.9% active ingredient, and is about 9.2 lbs/gallon.

So using 1/2 oz liquid measure per 1000 square feet means applying 0.008 lbs of active ingredient per 1000 square feet.

Granular is 0.31% active ingredient, so to apply the same amount in granular form I would need 2.6 pounds per 1000 square feet. (The rate for turf is 2-4 pounds per 1000 sq-ft).

Anyone who wants to check my math please do.
